Walker Sports Innovations LLC. was founded by John Walker after coaching, teaching, and playing baseball over the past five decades. John is a former college baseball player who now resides in Clearwater, Florida with his family.
The Hitzem indoor basement or garage batting and pitching practice net was designed for his children, active baseball and softball players. John’s kids needed a place to practice drills at home and indoors where they were not exposed to the heat and constant rain showers in Florida. John’s goal was to hit in the garage, so he searched for a practice net that could hang easily and store away in seconds. His idea was to develop a hitting net that didn’t require a time-consuming process of setting up, breaking down poles, and fighting to twist a contorted net back into shape, like backyard practice nets. He wanted a practice net that didn’t take up any space in his two-car garage, that his children could easily set up by themselves, and that he could buy at a reasonable price.
But it sparked an idea. In addition to his passion for baseball, over the past 25 years John has also been focused on business, design, and patents. After speaking with parents and baseball and softball players of all ages, John realized that he wasn’t the only one looking for an alternative to driving to the batting cages. Parents and players wanted a better practice net that they could use at home and indoors, a net that could make practicing baseball and softball drills easy and convenient. So he got to work.
John developed an indoor hitting and pitching net and storage system that could be set up at home, making daily batting and pitching practice easy for parents and players alike. Walker Sports Innovations has also created the Hitzem Golf Net and the Storzem garage storage net system.
